NICKEL ALLOYS

Nickel alloys are metals formed by fusing nickel with another element. It combines two materials in order to achieve more desirable properties, such as increased strength and resistance to corrosion. Due to its unique properties, it is used in a wide variety of equipment across multiple industries. Apex Metal India is a market leader in the supply of nickel in all grades.

SPECIAL ALLOYS

Special alloys are so named because they were developed for a specific purpose and are classified according to their intended use. Super Alloys are typically extremely strong and corrosion resistant, and retain these characteristics even at elevated temperatures.

DUPLEX & SUPER DUPLEX

The names Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steels refer to their two-phase microstructure, which is composed of stainless steel grains that are 50% austenitic and 50% ferritic. This type of steel has a number of advantages and is frequently preferred over conventional ferritic or austenitic stainless steels due to its increased strength – it is roughly twice as strong as these metals. Due to duplex stainless steels' increased yield strength, thinner sections can be created, resulting in significant weight savings.

PH GRADES

Except for the presence of trace amounts of copper, aluminium, phosphorus, or titanium, PH alloys are similar to other stainless steel and nickel-based alloys. After forming a part from a PH alloy, it is subjected to an age-hardening process during which these elements precipitate as hard intermetallic compounds, significantly increasing the hardness and strength of the part.

TITANIUM ALLOYS

Titanium metal is extracted from the ore minerals rutile (titanium dioxide) and ilmenite. Titanium metal is abundant in the earth's crust (iron-titanium oxide). Titanium possesses exceptional strength, stiffness, and toughness, as well as a low density and high resistance to corrosion. These properties are enabled by a diverse range of titanium alloys, which are used in applications ranging from extremely low to extremely high temperatures. Weight savings are possible in a variety of aerospace applications, as well as in other high-performance industries such as medical, chemicals, and automobiles.

STAINLESS STEEL

While ordinary steel contains a trace of chromium to increase its strength and hardness, stainless steel alloys exhibit superior corrosion resistance due to their ability to form a passivation layer of chromium oxide on their outer surface, effectively coating the steel and protecting it from harmful oxidation caused by the reaction of exposed iron and oxygen molecules in the atmosphere. Apex Metal India is a market leader and stockist of all grades of stainless steel.

NITRONIC ALLOYS

NITRONIC Alloys are classified into the 200 and 300 series and contain between 16% and 30% chromium and 2% to 20% nickel for enhanced surface quality, formability, corrosion, and wear resistance. Hardening austenitic alloys by heat treatment is not possible. These steels are the most widely used grades of stainless steel due to their superior formability and corrosion resistance. All austenitic steels are nonmagnetic in their annealed state. Certain austenitics, depending on their composition, are slightly magnetic when cold worked.
