As with 904L, 926 is a type of austenitic stainless steel. It has a 0.2 percent nitrogen content and a 6.5 percent molybdenum content.It was found that molybdenum and nitrogen made the halide media more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. Nickel and nitrogen, on the other hand, not only keep the metallographical stability, but also make the process of heating or welding less likely to separate the intergranular trend than the nickel alloy's nitrogen content. 926 has a lot of corrosion resistance in chloride ions because of its good local corrosion resistance and 25% nickel alloy content.
