NILO-48

NILO is a binary alloy of nickel and iron with a variable nickel content. NILO alloys are classified as alloys with controlled expansion.Controlled expansion alloys are those that have a low expansion coefficient (at both low and high temperatures), a high degree of ductility, and a high degree of toughness. Additionally, these alloys have excellent mechanical properties.

NILO alloys are classified according to their nickel content as NILO 36, NILO 42, NILO 48, and NILO alloy K. NILO 48 alloy contains 48% nickel and has a coefficient of thermal expansion comparable to soft lead and soda-lime glass. This alloy has a very high inflection point. NILO 48 alloy is available in a variety of shapes and sizes, including round, flats, tube, strip, and wire. The chemical composition, properties, and applications of NILO 48 alloy will be discussed in this datasheet.
