ALLOY K 500
In as-welded structures, the low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation during welding, resulting in improved corrosion resistance. When used in an as-welded condition, this nickel alloy is resistant to grain boundary precipitates forming in the weld heat-affected zone, which makes it suitable for most chemical process applications.
Hastelloy C-276 is a wrought alloy of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum that is very resistant to corrosion. Because this alloy is resistant to grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, it can be used in most chemical processes. Another thing: it's also resistant to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, as well as oxidising environments up to 1900F. Alloy C-276 is very resistant to chemicals.
